“Well, I’m happy that they got the chance to meet each other. So, how does Tristan feel about this?” I asked, even though I really couldn’t care less.

“Umm…I don’t know because I haven’t old him yet,” she said as she continued to look at her computer while biting her lip, something she did whenever she was nervous.

“Ooooh, your ass is in some deep shit,” I laughed.

“It’s not funny, Tahti. Plus, what do you care for? You don’t even like Tristan,” she said as she hit me with a pillow.

“You’re right, I don’t. He’s not for me though; he’s for you, so my opinion shouldn’t matter. I’m more worried about my nephew in this situation. How the hell is this going to work, because you know good and damn well Omega is not going for Tristan being daddy anymore,” I reminded her.

She sighed and laid back in the bed. “I know, Tahti. He already told me that he’s not going for that. And to make matters worse, I told him about Tristan living here with us.”

“You did what?” I yelled. “And you’re still alive? Is Omega losing his touch?” I asked.

“Shut up, Tahtiana! I need some help here. Juanie’s birthday is in exactly four days. Tristan will be home in four days. Omega will be meeting Tristan in FOUR DAYS!” she yelled. “Are you catching my drift here?”

By now I was in tears. The situation wasn’t that funny, but my sister always had to be so damn dramatic. I think this is why she and Mama Nique get along so well. Tahani was always making things harder than they needed to be.

“Hani, listen to your big sister because you know I would never steer you wrong. Just tell Tristan. If he’s half of the good man you portray him to be, then he will understand. I mean, Omega is Juanie’s dad, for crying out loud. It’s not like you’re telling him you’re fucking Omega,” I said before I got quiet. “Well, you’re not, are you?”

“What? No! I haven’t even been close enough to Omega for him to even kiss me, let alone fuck me.”

“I’m just checking. You know how you two used to be. I won’t give it log before it happens though. You know you always get weak for him. So please, just be careful,” I warned her.

“Don’t worry about it. Omega knows I’m not that same little girl I was when he got locked up. His tactics and techniques aren’t going to work on me now,” she said as if she was trying to convince herself more than me.

I just left it at that because I kept telling myself the exact same thing when it came to DeMoni. So far, I’ve been doing good, but there’s no telling when he’s going to pop back up and try to do whatever he can to get me back.

  8: Omega

Today was the day. DeJuan Marcelo Hooks Jr. is seven years old. Tahani allowed me to keep him for a week straight leading up to his birthday. I was hoping that everything I had planned for him would make this a birthday that he would never forget.

First, I was taking him and a few of his friends to the Tropical Park where they could run around, play a little game of basketball and whatever else the kids these days do while Tahani would be at the hotel decorating the room where he would be opening his present. After we left the park, we were going to head to the hotel. I rented three rooms at InterContinental Miami. There is where he would open his present, we would sing happy birthday and get ready for the last part of his birthday. After everyone took showers and got refreshed, I was going to take him and his friends to see the Miami Heat play the Orlando Magic.

I was new to this daddy shit and a little nervous, but with some reassurance from Tahani, I was good.

“Here, little man. The first gift of the day,” I said as I handed him the box.

He hurried to tear the box open and was excited when he saw what it was. It was the new iPhone 6 that was identical to mine.

“Seriously, dad? This is mines? Mom is going to go crazy!” he said excitedly.

“Yup, it’s all yours. Don’t have them little girls blowing up your phone, either,” I joked.

“I’ll try not to,” he laughed.

I just shook my head. “Come on, we have a long day ahead of us,” I said as we got up to get dressed.

It was only right that I got my little man fresh. He was rocking Polo from head to toe, literally. He had a Ralph Lauren Polo hat on, a brown Polo shirt, white Polo shorts and brown Polo boat shoes on. My little man was fresh to sum it all up.

I was slightly matching his fly. I also had on some Polo shorts that were slightly sagging to show off my Polo boxers. I thugged it out, only wearing a wife beater with my all whites. We had gone to the barbershop yesterday, so we were both freshly lined up and my waves were on swim.

“You ready, little man?” I asked.

  “I’m ready, dad,” he said.

And with that, we were on our way out the door. After picking up Juanie’s friends, I took them to Tropical Park. We were there for three hours before Tahani texted me and told me that everything was set up and ready.

“Alright, y’all. Next stop,” I told them.

When we got to the hotel, I led the little guys to the room Tahani had decorated. I had to stop and admire her handiwork because she did a damn good job. She had blue and white everything. Even his mini three-tiered cake was blue and white. It had his name on one tier and the number seven on another. To say that we went all out for our only son would be an understatement.

While the boys went to their room to shower, I stayed down in the room with Tahani.

“Damn, little baby, this shit is hot!” I complimented.

“Thank you. I try my best.” She smiled.

I turned to look at her and my dick instantly jumped. She was wearing a white strapless romper with a diamond shape cut out in the back, some blue heels that made her short ass look taller than she was, and she topped it off with blue accessories.

“Why you feel like you gotta play with a nigga?” I asked as I adjusted my dick in my shorts.

She laughed like that was the funniest thing she’d ever heard. I was standing there looking at her like she was crazy because I didn’t see the humor in this situation.

“You can’t talk, Omega. You’re the one with all those new muscles out and everything,” she said as she squeezed my arm.

“Since you wanna squeeze stuff, my turn,” I told her as I grabbed a handful of her ass.

She punched me in my chest before moving back. “Stop playing with me, DeJuan.”

“Fair exchange, no robbery, little baby,” I told her as I licked my lips.

“I knew y’all asses couldn’t stay away from each other,” Tahtiana said from the door with a smile on her face. “FYI little sister, Tristan just pulled up.”

“Oh shit!” Tahani said as she ran to the door.

Tahtiana walked over to me with a goofy smirk on her face. I knew exactly what she was thinking. “We are not fucking, Tahti,” I told her.

“What?” she laughed. “I didn’t even say anything. I mean, just because I stood there watching you two grope all over each other doesn’t mean anything.”

“Whatever, dude.” I playfully mushed her.

“Where’s the liquor? I need a drink if I’m going to be around this nigga,” she said as she walked over to the juice.

“First of all, you better not be drinking while you’re carrying my niece or nephew. Second of all, what nigga?”

“Tristan, Hani’s boyfriend. I thought she said she told you about him,” she said.

“She did but she never said his name. What you don’t like him?” I asked.

“Hell no! I keep trying to tell Hani that something ain’t right about him, but you know how she is.” She rolled her eyes. “Oh look, here they come now,” she said as she took a seat at one of the tables.

Shit, I decided to take a seat right along with her. Tahani had another thing coming if she thought I was going to make this shit easy for her. She pulled this nigga in our direction with a big ass smile on her face. I looked over at Tahti and she was looking like she was ready to go already.

“What’s up, Tahti?” the nigga spoke to her.

“Tristan,” she said dryly with a fake smile.

“Anyways,” Tahani said as she shot her sister a look. “Baby, this is Omega, Juanie’s dad. Omega, this is Tristan, my boyfriend.”

This nigga looked very familiar. I couldn’t place it or put my finger on it, but I knew him from somewhere. Tahani cleared her throat and looked at me like she was waiting on something. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow, asking her a silent question.

“Mega, don’t be like that,” she said.

“What you expect me to do?” I asked her.

“Mega, she wants you to shake this man’s hand, tell him it was nice to meet him and leave it at that,” Tahti spoke.

“Nah, I’ll be back. I gotta call my brother,” I said as I got up from the table, leaving everyone to their own thoughts.

I could tell just from looking at this nigga that he was going to be on some other shit. I didn’t give a damn about how Tahani felt. What did she think was going to happen when she introduced the first nigga she ever loved to the nigga she was currently fucking and playing house with? I was going to do some research and keep my eye on this Tristan nigga. I have to agree with Tahti on this one, something about him just don’t seem right.

  9: Tristan

I looked over at Tahani and she looked as if she was about to cry. She looked from me to her sister before she took off for the door. I shook my head as I started to go after her. Before I could even take a second step, Tahtiana stopped me.

“I got her,” she said as she ran out behind her.

I was still stuck on the fact that she said this nigga was Juanie’s dad. I’ve been Juanie’s dad for the past two years and I’d be damned if this nigga thought that he could walk back in after never even being in Juanie’s life and play the daddy role.

I could tell that my trips to LA were going to be cut all the way down. I knew the history the two of them shared and even though I trusted Tahani, I didn’t trust that nigga. He gotta be out of his rabbit ass mind if he thought he could just come in and tear apart the family I had built. I pulled out my phone to send a quick text.

We have a problem, I need to come see you.

I put my phone up as I heard voices and footsteps coming in the room. I smiled when I looked up to see Juanie and his friends laughing and playing.

“Hey, Trist. When did you get back?” he asked as he hugged me.

“Today. You know I couldn’t miss my little man’s birthday,” I told him.

“Where did my mom and dad go?” he asked.

Hearing him call that nigga dad sent a little pain through my heart. Since he was five years old, I’d been telling him that he could call me dad whenever he felt like it but he stuck with calling me Trist or Tristan. Now in walks a nobody and he automatically gets the title ‘dad.’

“Juanie!” We all looked up as he heard his name being called.

“Dad, I was looking for you. Where did mom go?” Juanie asked.

“She’s outside talking to your auntie,” he said as he glared at me.

“Can I open my gifts now?” Juanie asked.

  “Sure, man,” I said.

Juanie looked from me to Omega. Omega chuckled before walking closer to us.

“DeJuan, wait for your mom. Y’all go play until she gets in here,” he told the kids but never took his eyes off of me.

When the kids were out of earshot, he decided to speak again.

“Maybe you missed the memo when Hani told you, but I’ll make sure you get it right. I’m Juanie’s father. You do not and will not have a say when it comes to him. I’m in the picture now and your word holds no weight at all.”

I laughed at this nigga. He couldn’t be serious.

“Nah, I think you got it twisted. I’m the one who had been raising, feeding, clothing, and taking care of Juanie for the past two years. He didn’t even know you existed up until a few weeks ago. I’m the only father he knows, so don’t let whatever little power Tahani let you have while I was gone go to your head. I’m running this shit,” I told him.

“See, I was trying to be nice, but I guess you want me to fuck you up. Don’t let whatever you think you have going on with my little baby be the reason you end up dead. There’s no use in trying to replace or compete with a nigga that’s always going to have a hold on her heart. I’ll allow you two to continue to see each other until I’ve had enough and I’m ready for her to come back home with my son,” he spat before walking away.

If that nigga knew what was good for him, he would stay far away from my son and even further away from my girl. He was already a walking target and didn’t even know it.

  10: Moni

“Come on, Shantell, damn! What the fuck you putting makeup on for anyways?” I yelled as I jumped out of the car.

Here I am hungry as hell and she wanna be cute. Her ass was acting like we were going to a damn five-star restaurant when we were only going to the damn Shake Shack.

“I’m coming, Moni. Dang! You’ve been really salty lately and I don’t know why, but you need to get over the shit because your attitude is on stank mode right now.” She rolled her eyes.

“You don’t have to put up with my attitude. There’s plenty of other bitches that would love to,” I told her.

  “Whatever,” she waved me off.

I knew that would shut her ass up. When we were walking through the door, Shantell was bumped but I thought it was an accident and didn’t think further on the issue until I heard that all too familiar voice from behind me.

“Didn’t I tell you that every time I seen you, I was going to beat that ass?”

I turned around to respond but before I could, some nigga was pulling her back by her waist.

“Not while you’re pregnant,” he told her.

Shantell looked from Tahti to me like she knew some shit was about to go down.

“What the fuck is this?” I asked as I pointed from Tahti to the random ass nigga that still had her by her waist.

“What it look like?” he spoke.

“So you can’t speak now?” I asked her.

“Moni, we’ve been done. Am I right or am I wrong?” she questioned me.

“What does that have anything to do with this bullshit here?” I yelled.

“Because I told you the only thing between us was this baby I—“

“Is it even my baby?” I asked her dryly.

“The fuck you just ask me?” she said.

“You heard me. You’re only three months pregnant, we ain’t been a couple for a year, and now you’re all out in public hugged up with some nigga,” I told her. I might sound cruel but I had to be sure if this baby was even mine before she started pinning it on me. I don’t know who else Tahtiana called herself fucking when she was fucking me. She had always been sneaky.

“What? Moni, you’re here with a bitch, so—”

Once again, I had to cut her off because she had the game twisted.

“This is my bitch, though!” I had to remind her.

“Yea? Well, this is my nigga,” she said.

“So again, I’m going to ask you, is that baby you’re carrying in your stomach even mines?” I asked her again.

“You know what, DeMoni? Fuck you. Just because you like to hoe around and don’t know how to be faithful doesn’t mean everyone else is the same. I was down and faithful to you, even when we weren’t together. You must have forgotten how you used to come over and eat my pussy then go home and kiss this bitch with the same mouth? Don’t play with me because I promise, you’ll lose. Since you want to play me and deny my child like I’m a hoe or something, knowing you’re the only person I’ve ever been with, I’m good on you,” she said before walking away.

Her new nigga looked at me with a smirk before he followed behind her out the door.

“Baby, how about we just go back to your place and I’ll cook for you?” Shantell suggested.

  “Doesn’t sound like a ba
d idea,” I said.

I wasn’t even in the mood to drive so I tossed her my keys and dialed my brother’s number.

“Talk to me, nigga,” he answered.

“Meet me at my crib. We need to talk,” I said.

“I’m on my way,” he said before hanging up.

Was I wrong for questioning the paternity of her baby? Hell no! Tahtiana just decided to cut me off three weeks ago and now all of a sudden she got a new nigga out of nowhere. For all I knew, he could have been around the whole time and I just didn’t know. We were broken up so she was free to do whatever she wanted.

Nobody could blame me for wondering if I was the real father. Her and that nigga were too damn comfortable for her to have just met him.

When we pulled up to my house, Omega was sitting in his truck rolling a blunt. I hopped in his truck with him while Shantell went in the house.

  “Hey, Shantell!” he yelled.

  “Hey,” she waved.

“Nigga quit being a flirt and pass that shit my way,” I told him.

“Alright, what’s wrong with you and Tahti now?” he asked as he gave me the blunt.

“Why everybody always assuming my problem is Tahtiana?” I retorted.

“Because that’s the only time you wanna talk to somebody,” he said.

“Man,” I sighed. “Me and Shantell just seen her at the Shake Shack with some nigga I ain’t never seen before. She get to spitting that ‘this my nigga’ crap, so me being who I am, I asked if the baby was mines,” I expressed to my brother.

He let out a whistle and shook his head.

  “Exactly.”

“So what she say?” Omega asked.

“She didn’t say too much of nothing honestly,” I told him. “Now was I wrong?”

“I don’t know, man. Tahti has always been sneaky, unlike her little sister. Even with that, I don’t think she would be the type to try to pin a baby on you if it really wasn’t yours. Hell, I don’t even see her sleeping with a nigga that ain’t you. You got that girl so fucked up mentally, I just don’t think it’s possible,” he said.
