Feels So Right, It Must Be Wrong Read online

She was sick of everyone trying to be in her business. She was tired of having to hide her feelings. She wanted to let the world know that she was happy and that he was the cause of it.

For two weeks straight,Asia hadn’t been feeling too well. She was tired, throwing up and couldn’t keep anything down. She had to send Symare to stay with his daddy for a few days because she couldn’t even get out ofthe bed to take care of him. Nika came over to take care of Asia but she also had something for her.“Here girl, take this for me,” Nika said, handing her a pregnancy test.

Asia looked at the pregnancy test then at Nika like she was crazy.“Oh hell no Anika! I am not pregnant!” Asia threw the covers over herself.“I’m just sick.I have the stomach flu. That’s it, that’s all.”

“You won’t know for sure unless you take it Asia. You told me yourself that you two never used protection, so just take it to be sure,” Nika said.

  “I’m not pregnant!”

  “Prove it then.”

Asia came from under the covers and gave Nika the most evil eye she could muster. She climbed out of bed and snatched the test from Nika before stomping to the bathroom. Nika just laughed and shook her head. She’s always been a spoiled brat.

Asia took the test and waited patiently for the results to come back negative. She and Knowledge hadn’t been intimate since before she got shot, so she knew there was no way in hell that she could possibly be pregnant. At least, she prayed there was no way she could be pregnant.

Asia picked up the test and damn near fainted when she saw the two lines indicating that she was indeed pregnant. Instantly, tears started to blur her vision. The fact that she was only twenty years old and pregnant with her second child really disturbed her. That, along with the fact that Cordae had come to pay her a visit yesterday and dropped a huge bomb on her.

Asia had finally gotten her stomach to settle after having another one of her morning episodes. She was sitting on her couch, eating chicken noodle soup and saltine crackers, praying that her stomach would be able to handle it. He heard the doorbell ring and was caught off guard because she didn't usually have visitors. Anyone that ever came over on a regular basis had a key.

Getting up to see who it was, she was shocked to see Cordae standing on the other side of her door. She swung her door open. “What’s up Dae?" she asked.

"I'm sorry for dropping by unannounced, but I really need to talk to you," Cordae said.

Asia moved out of the way so that he could come inside. They walked into her living room where he took a seat on a love seat that was right across from where she had been previously sitting. "Okay, what's up? Talk."

"Remember a few months ago I told you to watch out for Knowledge?" he asked.

  "Umm, yea," she answered skeptically.

"Well I told you that because Knowledge has been playing with you for the past few months," Cordae said.

  "What you mean?" asked Asia.

"I mean he has a fiance that he lives with him and she should be having their daughter any day now. I wasn't going to tell you because it wasn't my business, but I couldn't sit back and watch him continue to play you anymore. Now, you don't have to believe me but the truth will eventually come to the light."

Asia sat there at a loss for words. He was sitting there telling her that the man she had caught feelings for, the one that she had around her son, the same man that she had given her body and her heart to, had been playing her all along. She didn't know if she should believe Cordae or give Knowledge a chance to defend himself and tell her that Cordae had lied on him.

Without showing any emotions, she got up and walked over to her front door and opened it. "Thank you for putting me up on game but I have to get back to trying to get my health back.” Cordae caught the hint and left. Asia sat back on her couch with a million thoughts running through her mind.

She walked out the bathroom and Nika was sitting on her bed waiting for her. The fact that Asia was crying let her know that the test had come back positive. She opened her arms for a hug and Asia walked into them and broke down crying.“Awww baby, it’s going to be okay,” Nika said, trying to comfort her.

“No,it’s not. Hewon’t even return my phone calls. I can’t have this baby,Nika, I just can’t. Symir is going to kill me,” Asia cried. She was starting to feel like a damn fool. Cordae's words kept playing over and over in her head.

Nika knew that Symirwas one of the main reasons for Asia’s tears. She was worried about what her brother was going to do or say. Knowing Symir like she did, she knew he wasn’t going to be too thrilled, but she also knew he would have his sister’s back no matter what.

“I’m about to call him, we can tell him together. I really think that you should talk to your brother before you make any decisions. You know he wouldn’t steer you wrong.”

Asia just nodded her head, knowing Anika was right. She sat on her bed in deep thought as Nika called Symir up.“What’s up?” He answered on the first ring.

“I think you need to come over here and see about your sister,” Nika said.

“I’m already two steps ahead of you. I’m about to walk through the door,” Symir said as he stepped out of his car.

“Come to her room when you get in,” Nika said before hanging up. She looked at Asia with worried eyes.“He’s already outside.”

“Oh my gosh,” Asia groaned. She wasn’t expecting to tell him so soon. She hadn’t even gotten over the shock of the results yet and now she had to tell her brother.

“You’ll be fine,” Nika reassured her.

“What’s wrong?” Symir said as he walked in the room. He noticed Asia was crying and his big brother senses kicked in.“Yo, you alright? Who I gotta fuck up?”

“I messed up,Mir,” Asia said as new tears blurred her vision.

  “What you do?” he asked.

Asia looked up at Nika and she nodded her head for her to tell him. Asia couldn’t form the words so she went to the bathroom and got the test. She handed it to her brother and his heart dropped after he read it.“Dammit,Asia, you’re pregnant?” Symir all but yelled.

“I guess,” Asia said like a little kid that was being chastised by their parent.

Symir should have known. The only times he had ever seen Asia cry was whenever she thought about her parents and when she found out she was pregnant with Symare. He wasn’t feeling this shit and he wasn’t about to act like he was. He was disappointed; not with his sister, but with Knowledge because of the situation he had put her in.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Knowledge’s number. Hisphone went straight to voicemail so he left him a message.“Call me as soon as you get this message. I need to holla at you now. Not now, but right now,” he said before hanging up the phone.

He had to throw the pregnancy test down and walk out of the room before he fucked somebody up. He knew all about the games niggas played. Hell, he had played plenty of them himself, but the shit was totally different when it came to his sister. He didn’t give a damn what Knowledge had to do but he better try his damn hardest to make this shit right.

Chelsea was about to get ready to cook dinner when she felt a sudden gush of water come out of her. She looked down and realized that her water had broken.“Shit!” she cussed. She hated to wake Knowledge up from his nap but she had a very serious situation on her hands.“Omari!” she yelled.

Knowledge jumped out of his sleep when he heard Chelsea call him. Heknew it had to have been a serious situation for her to call him Omari because she never called him that. He jumped out of bed and ran downstairs.“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“My water just broke,” she said.

  “Huh?” he asked confused.

Chelsea rolled her eyes.“Your baby is on her way into the world,” she said in a way that his clueless ass would understand.

  “Oh shit! Now?” he panicked.

“Well,I’m not pushing her out yet but she’ll probably be here in a few
hours. I’m about to call my doctor. Canyou pack my bag for me and grab me some clothes that I can change into?” she asked.

“Aw,damn, I got you.” He ran back up the stairs. He was about to lose his mind. He had never been through this before so this was all new to him. He didn’t know what to expect. He just started throwing stuff in the bag because he didn’t know what to grab. Right about now he was starting to regret not going to all those classes with Chelsea. He was also wishing that his sister hadn’t have left to go back home because he could have really used her at that moment.

After packing everything and helping Chelsea change her clothes, they were headed to the hospital. Knowledge was more excited than Chelsea was. He couldn’t wait to see what his princess would look like. He was praying to God that he didn’t end up fainting in the delivery room like a punk bitch.

They were waiting in the hospital room for Serenity to get there. Chelsea was just starting to have contractions, but they were too far apart and she was only two centimeters dilated.

“I gotta call Patience and tell her that her niece is about to enter the world,” he said as he checked his pockets for his phone. He realized he had left his phone at home. He forgot that he had turned it off to catch up on some sleep. He was so busy packing the baby bag that he didn’t even think to grab it.

"These contractions are hell!" Chelsea fussed as a contraction hit her.

Six hours later, Serenity Lian Marks came into the world. From the moment he saw her, he fell in love with her. He followed the nurses around as they cleaned her off and weighed her, and as soon as they were done, he took her in his arms. Chelsea gave a weak smile. She could already tell that he was going to have her spoiled. Knowledge was amazed. He just couldn't stop looking at the beautiful little girl that he helped create. He made a vow that he was going to do whatever it took to protect her.

"My Serenity," he whispered to her and she smiled in her sleep at the sound of her daddy's voice.

Asia had been walking around her house like a zombie. Symir made her go to the doctor and, apparently, she was already three months pregnant. She was confused. She didn't understand how she could walk around that long not knowing she was pregnant. She knew her appetite had increased and she was gaining weight, but she thought it was because she was stressing. She had stopped trying to get in contact with Knowledge and even went so far as to block his number.

She was tired of going through this with him. She was far from a dummy and could tell there was someone else. She didn't want to believe what she was told at first, but reality had been hitting her hard ever since she came out of that fairy tale world she thought she was living in. She was putting two and two together now. Him disappearing for long periods of time, not answering her phone calls, only coming around when he wanted to. She had finally caught on and she did the only thing she could do, which was to fall back and let him do him.

She had already made the decision that she wasn't going to have this baby. She would be damned if she brought this baby into the world and it wouldn't be able to have a relationship with its father because he was too busy trying to hide him or her from his soon-to-be wife. She didn't care about him mistreating her, but there was no way in hell he would get a chance to mistreat a child she brought into the world. Right when she was about to leave, Crystal walked through the door. "Go sit that ass down somewhere," Crystal demanded. Asia knew she meant business because that was the only time she cussed.

"Ma, I gotta go." Asia pouted as she sat on her couch.

"Asia, you know I don't get into you and Symir's business, but this one here, I'm going to speak on," Crystal said with her hands on her hips. "I understand that you are hurt and confused right now. You were in this same place almost three years ago when you were pregnant with Symare. I was there and held your hand throughout the whole thing, didn't I?"

Asia nodded her head. "Yes ma'am."

"So what the hell makes you think I wouldn't do that now? Just because you don't like how your relationship with Knowledge is right now doesn't mean that you will take it out on that baby and get rid of it. I will not sit back and allow it to happen. Your brother called me and begged me to come over here and talk you out if it, but don't tell him I told you that."

Asia was stunned. Since she had told Symir she was pregnant, he acted like he was disappointed or mad at her. In fact, she hadn't even told him she was going to get an abortion, so how he even knew was confusing her.

"I hear you Ma." Asia sighed.

"I know you hear me but do you understand me?" Crystal asked.

"I hear you and I understand you. I understand one hundred percent, no abortion. I get it." Asia threw her arms up.

"Don't get smart, Asia Latrice Stewart," Crystal fussed. "Now take yo ass upstairs and lay down while I fix us something to eat so my grandbaby can eat." She shooed her off.

"I don't think your granddaughter appreciates you talking to her mother like that." Asia smiled.

"Awww, you wanna give me another girl?" Crystal beamed. She loved the thought of being a grandmother. She loved the two grandkids she already had and would love this one just as much.

Asia went upstairs to her room and grabbed her ultrasound off her dresser. She just stared at it before a little smile crept across her face. She had always wanted a little girl and prayed that God would bless her with one. It took her mom to come down on her head to help her realize how foolish she was being. She didn't need Knowledge. Her baby was going to be good with or without him.

Knowledge pulled up to Symir's house wondering what was so drastic that he insisted on seeing him. He knew he had been missing in action for a little but he had a good, logical reason. Cordae opened the door and shook his head at Knowledge. He just didn't know the shit he was in with Symir. "Brother of mine," Cordae greeted him with a smirk.

"Shut the fuck up. Where is Symir?" Knowledge asked as he pushed past Cordae.

  "In his office, of course."

Knowledge walked into Symir's office where he found him counting money. This reminded him of when he first walked into his office three months ago. That was how it all started. "Nice of you to finally show up," Symir said without looking up.

"Chelsea had the baby and I had to make sure she was straight," Knowledge said as he sat down.

"That's what's up, congratulations. Fatherhood is a wonderful thing."

  "Thank you," Knowledge smiled.

Symir stopped counting his money and looked up, "So when are you going to go check on your other baby?" he asked with a straight face.

Knowledge looked at him like he was crazy. "What you talking about, man? I only have one."

Symir reached in his drawer and grabbed a copy of Asia's ultrasound. He threw it on his desk and nodded his head towards it for Knowledge to pick it up. Knowledge picked it up and looked at it. He got light-headed when he noticed he was looking at an ultrasound and he almost passed out when he spotted Asia's name on it. "Oh shit!" he let slip out.

"When you first came to me and told me about you and Asia, what did I say?" Symir asked.

"You said don't lose something I've been building for years over an infatuation I caught in weeks," Knowledge answered.

"I also told you that I didn't want my sister getting hurt. Now here she is three months pregnant, which tells me that she had to have gotten pregnant when y'all first started fucking. She's at the crib yelling 'abortion' because she been trying get in contact with yo ass. I sent my mom over there to deter her, but I think you better haul ass over there and tell her something. Something like the truth," Symir suggested.

Knowledge was actually happy that Asia was carrying his seed but at the same time, he was scared as hell. He knew it was time to put all the bullshit aside and man up. He would be damned if he allowed Asia to abort his child due to his fuck-ups.

"You know what you gotta do, right?" Symir asked.

"Imma tell her everything," Knowledge said.

; "You need me to roll with you?"

"Nah, I created this shit so now I have to own up to it."

  ~ ~ ~

Knowledge stood on Asia's doorstep still trying to figure out how he was going to approach the situation. He rang her doorbell and waited for an answer. He knew she was home because her Audi was in the driveway. He waited another minute before he rang the doorbell again. This time the door came open and Khyree stood there with just some sweats on and no shirt. He was looking at Knowledge like he was disturbing him or something.

  "Yea?" he asked.

"I'm not here for you. Where Asia?" Knowledge asked with a mug.

"She busy and I don't think she trynna see you."

"Nigga, what?" Knowledge asked getting in his face. Before he could do anything, Asia pulled Khyree back into the house.

"It's cool, Khy." She turned her attention towards Knowledge. "Five minutes," she said before walking away. Knowledge followed behind her and gave Khyree a menacing look. Khyree just smirked at Knowledge to let him know he wasn't worried about him.

Asia led him downstairs to the theater room where Symare was watching TV and playing with his toys. "Go upstairs and play with daddy for a minute," Asia said.

"Okay mommy," he said before running past her. He stopped, turned around, ran to Knowledge and hugged his leg before running up the stairs.

"Your five minutes started two minutes ago." She folded her arms over his chest.

"Okay, look. I have a lot of shit I need to get off my chest.I just want to say I never meant to hurt you at all but I have fiancé that I've been with for six years. She just recently gave birth to our daughter a couple of days ago. I didn't think that I would catch feelings for you, but I did. I'm so fucking sorry," he came right on out and said it.

Asia was floored. To hear someone else tell her that he was living a double life was way different than actually hearing it from the horse’s mouth. She didn't think Cordae had a reason to lie but she was trying to give Knowledge the benefit of the doubt. She walked up on him and slapped the shit out of him. "Three months, Omari! Three fucking months. I'm three months pregnant and you're telling me I've been playing the side bitch role all this time?" Asia yelled. "You're such a fucking beautiful liar. I swear you are. How did you do it? How did you get this far along without us finding out about each other?" she questioned.
